The model TF45 insertion thermometer is mainly used to measure the temperature of gaseous substances and also the surfaces of solids in the range of -50 … +260 °C (-58 … +500 °F). In conjunction with an additional thermowell, the insertion thermometer can also be used for temperature measurement in liquid media.
The measuring element is connected to a connection lead and built into a heat-conducting probe sleeve made of stainless steel. The probe sleeve is proof against dust and jets of water and compressed onto the connection lead.

The measuring inserts per DIN 43735 for resistance thermometers described here are designed for installation in a protective fitting. Operation without a thermowell is only advisable in special cases. The measuring insert is manufactured from bendable, mineral-insulated sheathed cable. The sensor is located in the tip of the measuring insert. The measuring inserts are delivered with loading springs to ensure a good contact to the thermowell floor.

This high-temperature thermocouple with a gas-tight sapphire protection tube has been specifically developed for use in gas reactors. Through the monocrystalline structure, the sapphire protects the precious metal of the thermocouple from poisonous toxic media in the aggressive atmosphere of the gasification reactor.This patented solution has been used successfullyin different reactors worldwide since 1997 under the designation model T-FZV.
